A different take on Becksvoort’s Frame with Two Faces
A Chinese friend asked if I could repair or reframe a two sided, 3D picture for her family. I recalled an asian looking FWW post I had seen when I realized I couldn’t duplicate or repair the lace work of the Chinese frame. This was the result using half a cutoff from a 15″ piece of 5/4 stained, curly, ambrosia maple, leftover from my copy of Chris Gochnour’s High Style Tool Cabinet door panels and matched drawer fronts. My wife of 30+ years is Japanese, so some may recognize the temple gate characteristics. No glue or nails. The slightly tapered feet are tenons through the lower styles tenons similar to the top in the opposite direction.
