Padauk Dining Table

I came across the slab of padauk at my local Woodcraft store and thought it would make a nice dining room table. I worked with angle grinder and sanders to soften and smooth the slab. Then, because the wood was so heavy, I turned to Kent Knapp from Milwaukee Blacksmith on the base. Together, with the table buyer, we worked out a design that suited her dining room. The table measures 72 inches long by 32 inches wide by 30.5 inches high and is finished with 15 coats of General Finishes oil-based polyurethane.
