Can this speaker be veneered?

Can this speaker be veneered? I took off the boring sock and I like the look of the raw drivers and cabinet. I still like the look of it better than the factory sock covered one even if its just roughly painted MDF from the factory. I wanted to attempt veneering it. Any suggestions? I appreciate your time.
