I made this Chess Ensemble for my twin brother on our 55th Birthday. So the piece has four 1959 nickels set into the corners. The turned pieces are from Walnut and Maple each set on brass bases for a little more “heft”. The baord is Solid Sapele and Maple lined in aWalnut Frame with a gilded molding. The legs and aprons are Sapele. The drawers are felt lined Maple and Walnut. See the link below for more pictures.
