This tall cabinet was made for the 2009 Design In Wood competition in San Diego, CA.

where it took 3rd pl. in veneering & marquetry. The leg’s are hand carved from redwood. All the moulding is cocobolo. The rails are ebony veneer. The cabinet is all

veneer. I thought it was Koa, but I don,t know, a little help on this please? The 

inside is all done in sepele mahogany. The marquetry on the door was inspired by a

greeting card I saw. It is two flowers on rocks in a pool of water.. The finish on the marq.

is a full-filled polyester conversion varnish, the rest is lacquer. It now sits in a gallery I show at looking for a home.
