Each book in The Missing Shop Manual series provides information so you can get the most out of the specific machines/tools covered. The “manuals” include set-up and safety advice and also include tips and techniques so you can maximize your machines’ performance. For example, the Router manual includes chapters on edge forming, grooving, joinery, and freehand routing. The books are filled with drawings and photos and come bound with durable covers so they can be used often in the shop. The Bench Planes manual even includes a 55-minute DVD featuring author Ernie Conover.

Groovy, makes me want to get Hammered.....
These would make it plane easy to see what kinda shape the router was in at my joint. (ouch)
Have a small shed (as we call it in the UK), cleaned and sharpened some inherited hand tools and bought small bandsaw, planer/thickneser and couple routers. Looking for that kick up the proverbial to spend the time learning how they should be used and what they can do before senses fail....
I wood love to win

What a contest asking me to think of something intelligent to say just so i can win some books...well I can't think of anything intelligent, so...
Never have too many shop books, I'm in.
I would greatly appreciate winning these books.
These would a a great addition to my collection! I have a few of the others in the series but not one of those up for grabs. What can I say but "Pick me!".

I hope to win. I always can use the help to improve my woodworking.
This should cover all those tools we buy at Garage sales and such!
I need these books like you wouldnt believe.
I have been receiving woodworking magazines for many years. Since receiving Fine Woodworking my skill level has improved to the point that I am slowly seeking out a transition from my home repair business to a dedicated business in building fine furniture. I feel that this will be a great future for me to fully enjoy. These books would help me on by quest for special knowledge and skills towards this dream.
Just remodeled my basement to include a workshop and can't wait to fill it with some tools! The only thing better than collecting tools is collecting books about how to use them!
These books are a must read for beginner woodworkers and a nice refresher for the experienced ones as well. I just plain want them myself. Not greedy or nothing...well, yes i want them. :)
I am a beginner and would love to have these books. I finally have a place to start working with wood and these would a great asset.
Sounds great!!!
Sign me up. I'd love to read them.

routers and information what a powerfull combination! small, large, tabled, freehand, or jig work, what a blast but always better with Knowledge! I hope whoever wins would be willing to share the experance with someone.
I have the Missing Manual for Tablesaws and the book for bandsaws. They are a great introduction for someone like me with hand me down tools.
By the way, I can highly recommend the magazine Tune Up Your Tools. I think I might be able to save an old router with information I learned in that magazine.
I have heard about these, would love to win these volumes!
These "Missing Manuals" are reminicent of the Charles Hayward books of a generation or so ago. They look like they would be very useful to have.
Raises hand for free book. ;-)
I have been looking at some of these books, they look pretty good!
Three cheers for continuing education!
Would love to have these books. There is always something to learn.
I never win anything, but I keep trying. Malcolm G
Looks like a lot of information that would be good to have. Thanks for the opportunity.
These appear to be very valuable for a novice like me.
Put me in coach. I don't smoke...
I'm due to win something!
Always been curious to read one of these Shop Manual books. Be glad to review them if I win.
Look interesting.. Put my name in the hat..:>)
Always interested in learning new techniques or relearning old tried/true methods. Winning would be icing on the cake!
I'm a beginner woodworker and have cherished every piece of literature I can get my hands on. I have 3 kids under 3 years old...and the time to spend in the shop can be tough to find...so having reading material close at hand has been the best thing to keep my eneregy and inspiration alive. It's also created a HUGE wishlist of pieces I look forward to building in the future.
I hope I win!
Best regards,
Jake
I'd be happy with any of these books
Free is good -
Great books to have I just added a shaper to my shop and could use more info.
To get the "inside story" on your toys is a MUST for any number of reasons.

I would love to read them to see how many new things I can learn. Sign me up.
I am in recovery mode from Knee replacement surgery and using this down time to read up on wood working articles. I have always been involved building wood furniture and products from my own design, with many ideas are inspired from articles and plans from your magazine and books.
This would be an oportune time to read and improve my skills through your missing book series. I have a large collection of books and I would love to add this set to my collection

Yeah, count me in as well
Books look great! I am just starting out so I am currently soaking up as much info as I can. In fact in about a week I am buying a couple of new tools(bench plane, router and drill) as at the moment I really only have a saw and a mortise chisel. So any books on using these tools would be great.
Gentlemen:
I’m not the sharpest stick in the pile. But! The more information I can glean the sharper my stick becomes.
Thanks,
Don
