The plane iron did not sit flat on the frog and I discovered a significant hollow area (almost 1⁄32 in.) on the frog. The sole of the plane was seriously out of flat and took 45 minutes to flatten. Despite all of my efforts, the plane still cut poorly, mostly due to poor machining. The Bailey-style frog worked decently but required removing the blade for mouth adjustments.
