This table is 10ft. 6in. long and a about 4 ft. at its widest point.  The top was made from a single slab of white oak.  The tree was felled for road construction and minutes away from being chopped into firewood.  A crane was called in for a rescue.  It was brought to some folks that specialize in slabbing large trees.  They chain milled and kilned it.   I cut something like 10 inches out of the middle of the slab (too near the center of the tree), then rejoined the halves with a massive T-spline.  The inlays on the top obscure it.  The base is cherry with walnut and maple accents.
