This is a collection of 10 floor standing lamps with wood lamp shades. Each lamp and shade is a unique design. The inspiration for this collection came from my desire to build something new from materials that would otherwise ended up in my fireplace. The risers or columns for each lamp are steam bent branches from Oak and Cherry trees taken down on my neighbors property to make room for a Pecan tree orchard. The shades are mostly made from thick hand plane shavings that I cut from short sections of split wood destined for the fireplace. The bases for each lamp came from a thick slab of wood that had a ton of defects and which I deemed unusable for fine furniture casework. Enjoy!
