Proposal Acoustic Guitar
So, this was my first time making something out of wood. My main source of information in the building process was from a book, Guitarmaking, Tradition and Technology by William R. Cumpiano and Jonathan D. Natelson. I built this guitar to propose to my, now, wife. (Yep, she said yes!) It took about 6 months to build just working on it nights after work in my garage. The sound board is Honduran Mahogany, the back and sides are Ovankol, and the headplate, fretboard and bridge are Ebony. The floral design on the front of the soundboard was done with a laser engraver at the sign shop I worked at at the time. Alot of trial and error but in the end I am very happy with the final look and action of the guitar.

That looks great. My first thing to build was a guitar also. I'd tell you about the slippery slope you're on, but since you are on this particular board I think you know all about it. I'd love to hear the story behind this. Any particular reason to have that size heel block? Congrats to you and the missus.
