I am looking at a 15″ planer manufactured by King.
I’m not familiar with the brand or its reputation. the palaner looks like a
Delta 15″. Any suggestions for a source for repair parts or a manual.?.
Thanks

Bill I was the unfortunate owner of a 15" King Planer. It looks just like the Delta but the parts are not interchangeable. The gears drive broke and I bought a delta part to replace it. Was same size but gears were machined in reverse. The rollers on the bottom could not be adjusted and expected to stay adjusted, nearly impossible to keep blades set, also it would not plane level. always drifted down to the right. Have you any idea how hard it is to make the head parallel?
I took off the motor, starting switch, and kept the stand. I loaded it in the back of my truck drove out on Ft. Hood and hitting the brakes while quickly in reverse, it sits on the bottom of a pond.
Next day I went out and bought a Delta. I am sure there are good King machines, this was not one of them. I have learned two lessons the hard way, if it says King or Jet, run the other way
