Hi,
I’m in the process of purchasing a SawStop ICS here in New Zealand. I’m looking for a decent dado set but the options in NZ are limited, naturally I can get one in from the US but shipping is expensive and what happens of something is wrong with set.
Ideally I would like the dado set to leave a flat bottom, one set that is available is the Forrest Dado King, I’m wondering if anyone out there has had much experience with this set.
From my understanding there are only a certain number of dado sets that can work with the sawstop, the chippers can’t be full blades because of the weight of the set if the brake cartridge goes off. This will rule out the Infinity Dadonator.
Any help in my search would be great as being in NZ it will be impossible to return a set and get money if it wasn’t any good.
Thanks for reading,
Cheers
Taff

I don't know about the Forest set, but I have the Freud SD208S 8" Dado set and it works fine with the SawStop.
I use a Forest 8" dado set with my 3HP Saw Stop, works like a charm out to 3/4" wide. With wider cuts, I leave off the washer that goes on a standard saw blade because the spindle is not quite long enough. Of course, you'll need a Dado cartridge for the Saw Stop and a new dedicated table insert. I have also frequently used a Freud 8" box joint cutter set (two blades) which creates flat bottoms and works nicely with the same Saw Stop cartridge. I love my Saw Stop, but a downside is that I used to be able to easily make my own zero-clearance wooden table inserts with my prior saw. Now that's a lot harder. Loved NZ.
