7 Questions with Tim Coleman
Simple really, we ask Tim questions, and he answers themTim Coleman has been building fine furniture since the 1980s, and the gorgeous sample pieces around his workshop hint at what made the final cut in his labors of love. But one corner is dedicated to another deep passion: cycling. A number of well tuned, well-loved bikes dominate the wall between his bench area and most of his power tools. Coleman guesses he’s ridden most every path in his area, both beaten and less so, since moving to western Massachusetts in 1989.
Be on the lookout for Tim’s masterclass coming up in issue #269 on how to create beautiful grain patterns with shopsawn veneer. Tim demonstrates how to arrange veneer in patterns from quiet to stunning. He focuses on four techniques: book-match, double book-match, slip match, and spin match.
