Shaker Blanket Chest From 1837
A new book of measured drawings

This article is adapted from John Kassay’s Book of Shaker Furniture, and its drawings and bill of materials give serious woodworkers the opportunity to scale their own shop plans and dimension their own stock. A concise text describes a blanket chest from 1837, made in Canaan, N.Y., and attributed to a Shaker by the name of Brother Gilbert Avery.
