The pull knobs are inscribed with Faith, Hope, and Love. The Inlayed heart on top has a scripture from 1st Corinthians
The heart is removable and held the engagement ring. Will you Marry Me is inscrbed on it. The proposal date is inscribed in the bottom of the drawer.
The plaques are insrcibed with a poem that Kevin had written.
Kevin wanted the plaques removable so they can be displayed on easels.
I didnt realize that bubinga is as hard as it is till I hand cut the dovetails.

A friend of mine, Kevin Butler wanted his marriage proposal to be special. He brought me some rough sketches and as we worked together on the design, this is what evolved. It is made of bubinga, ebony, and birch. The inscriptions were done by Lindell Valentine of PJ Works in Keithville, La. The wedding was on March the 7th this year so I guess it worked.

Best I better stick to my woodworking. At least there all the damage I can do is cut a finger or 2 off. That beats being embarrased in front of the whole world. Lane Hall

HallmarkWoodcrafts HallmarkWoodcrafts writes: tuuk, I just sent a letter to the editorial staff explaining the situation. I ask them to look into this. I have offered to withdraw my entry should it be found to be a scam. I believe in honest workmanship and a project should be seen as the workmanship, time and effort put into it. Sincerely, Lane Hall

tuuk tuuk writes: Most likely a glitch, I think FWW was working on the site. You may want to verify your entry. It looks like you are in the general gallery. I think the contest entries are in a sperate gallery.

HallmarkWoodcrafts HallmarkWoodcrafts writes: tuuk, I'm very curious about what's happening here also. I checked on it yesterday and there were 31 thumbs up. I know the numbers this morning can't be right. There has to be a glitch in the system somewhere or an overzealous fan is pulling some hanky panky. I have been under the impression that only members can give a thumbs up and make comments. Is there anyway to check with FWW to get this problem fixed. It's sure not fair to the other entries. There are many magnificent pieces entered and I know that I cannot have this many licks. I apologize to everyone on this site and hope it can be fixed. Sincerely, Lane Hall

tuuk tuuk writes: Very nice box. I am however curious as to the number of thumps up you have, it's very high for the short time it has been listed. This morning you had over three hundred thumbs up in less than two hours. That's rather impressive.
