The box measures 4" deep, 5" on each side and 7" at its widest point from corner to corner in the front. The curved lacewood pieces were boiled then bent around the curve of a paint can to harden.
The lid just clears the tray when closed and keeps everything secure when box is carried or moved.
The tray rests atop the earring frames that slide in and out vertically.
The frames are made from very thin cherry sandwiching the wire mesh and are very strong with no flex.
Here you can see the back and bottom of the box. 5 small splines were used to reinforce the mitered back of the box

I made this box for my wife, who was instrumental in the design process, to keep in the corner by her bathroom sink for her earings. Cherry and Lacewood with poly finish.
