I am in the process of making each of my daughters a piece of furniture of their choosing. They get to pick what it is, but I get to design it. My oldest daughter asked for a bench, and here it is. It is constructed from African Mahogany dyed with an analine dye then finished with 4 coats of poly/oil, two coats of oil/wax and two coats of wax.

Design or Plan used: My own design

PSeverin PSeverin writes: It is a beautiful bench. But why is the stretcher not centered making a continuation of the lovely curved end boards. It seems like a natural thing to do that could strengthen an interesting design?
