You may or may not consider this "fine Woodworking' but I earn my living as carpenter designing building and installing millwork and cabinets. This is a stair railing and 12" box newels I built at the jobsite. All the parts are milled form standard vg helock diminsional lumber and moldings. The wrought iron pickets are stock order itemd from Fitz. I liked the look we got and it goes great with the overall decore of the house. The difficulty factor is just as high or higher as build a piece of furniture in my shop. Working at jobsite presents is own challenges in terms of logistics and working conditions especially when working on stairs as all the other workers are walking over you all day. But I like the challenge. It's not quite completed which is my work for tommorow.

zbop writes: Excellent. Sure it's fine woodworking .... much more than a lot of what I've seen here of late. Having built my own home I can appreciate doing work like this with all of the other subs crawling all over you. Don't belittle what you do. It's detailed work to be proud of.
