Walking Tall Cabinet
comments (0) October 6th, 2009 in Reader's Gallery
This tall cabinet was made for the 2009 Design In Wood competition in San Diego, CA.
where it took 3rd pl. in veneering & marquetry. The leg's are hand carved from redwood. All the moulding is cocobolo. The rails are ebony veneer. The cabinet is all
veneer. I thought it was Koa, but I don,t know, a little help on this please? The
inside is all done in sepele mahogany. The marquetry on the door was inspired by a
greeting card I saw. It is two flowers on rocks in a pool of water.. The finish on the marq.
is a full-filled polyester conversion varnish, the rest is lacquer. It now sits in a gallery I show at looking for a home.
