Our newly finished Frank Klausz designed work bench. What a joy to have in my shop. It is both functional and a beauty to look at. It took about a year to build, working on it as I could carve away some time from my construction company.
One of only two machines with a cutterhead perfectly parallel to its beds, the DeWalt 734 is a very good planer. Knife changes overall were straightforward, but access is difficult because you must remove a Phillips-head screw from under the dust shroud—not an easy task. The dust port on the back of the machine has a 2-1/2-in.-dia. opening but can be hooked up to a 4-in.-dia. hose. Connected to a dust collector, it did an excellent job gathering chips. And because the port exits to the left of the machine, the hose is never in the way of exiting boards. The top of the machine is flat, making it a good place to stack boards between passes.
The Rikon’s power and capacity are comparable to the other smaller models, but a few issues held it back. Because the chip bag hangs a bit loosely on the canister, it tends to slip off during changes. On the plus side, it’s the only small collector with a 5-in.-dia. intake, so if you discard the Y-junction with the 4-in. ports, and run a 5-in. hose closer to your machines, you’ll add efficiency.
With its graceful curves, cabriole legs, and ornamental back splat, a Queen Anne side chair is a bucket list build for many woodworkers. Dan Faia had a very specific Queen…

What is a saw stop? I am planning to build one like yours but never heard of the saw stop.
The saw stop is just a small flip up stop that allows you to position your board against it to saw it to length. Thanks for the positive comments. Tim
Ah, I get it, thanks TC. I thought you were talking about the white guide on the tail vise.
What a beautiful table and craftmanship. It belongs in the house, not shop.
Thanks so much for the kind remarks, evryone. It is nice to feel the community out there!
