My first retirement project !
Hi,everyone this is my first major work ( retirement project !!)and i strarted by my main tool .. a workbench .
Lots of hours involved ,not being a proffessional i made a lots of mistakes and experiments (inlay venneering for corners etc ..) but the result is satisfying for me. 300 pounds ,250 hours later i can finely give it some life . I’ll ajust along the way adding whatever i need ( dog holes etc ) for future projetcs .
Beautifull stuff on this site and lots of pertinent info , i’m happy to be part of the community now .
Excuse my English i’m primary french from Montreal area.
Thanks for looking !

Well, no one should enter retirement without a good bench to work at, so your priorities appear correct. I'd better get busy building mine. The bench looks great.
Looks great. Congradulations on your retirement. I am in the process of retiring, and as soon as my replacement is onboard and ready to go on his own, I am out of here, and into the pole barn. By the way, my friend, Your English is much better then my French. Enjoy your shop and this new chapter of your life.
Looking good... I look forward to retirement too. Dans 30 ans!
That bench would look nice in my dining room. :)
Thanks iplay 1515 , i don't know if it's a compliment ! , but my wife think alike !! I've got this little contract hanging over my head now. '' Please do a nicer one for the dining room ....

Sylvain; it seems there are a lot of us for whom retiring to a workbench is the right plan. Like a couple of the commentators above I too am perched on the brink of retiring and a new workbench is high on the list (my wife has a kayak there). Live a long and productive retirement with your beautiful bench.
