This Music Stand was a High School Graduation present for my Nephew. It adjusts and locks in place from sitting to standing heights or anywhere in between. For travel, it comes apart in three sections and fits in a padded suitcase. The Top is 9/32″ thick Birdseye Maple with book-matched White Oak panels. The 1-1/2″ diameter sliding column is alternating strips of Cherry and White Oak. The Base is figured Cherry and Walnut Burl. The Trunion and pivot are “shop made” plywood from cherry veneer scraps. The Birdseye Maple was found in a skid. The White Oak panels and Cherry legs were the scrap ends of otherwise clear boards. The Walnut Burl was found in a pile of firewood. Nice scrap…If I do say so myself.

The thick, felted bag on this Shop Fox is a plus and a minus. Without a separate plastic bag to catch chips, however, they stay in the felt bag, and the shortish zipper on the bottom makes it tough to shake them out. Otherwise, the W1826 is an excellent value.
Beautiful music stand. I'd love to see greater detail on how it slides and locks into place (or your plans, if any). Thank you for posting your work--love it.
