I own a Grizzly 20″ planer and have been really happy with it for the past few years. However, recently, it started acting up. After I would flatten a board on my jointer and run it through the planer, it would come out with an upward bow in the board. Not only would the top be bowed upward, but also the bottom. So, I took the whole thing apart per the manual and readjusted all of the rollers, the blades, the chip breaker, and anything else that could move. I fired the old girl back up and it did the same thing. Thinking that it might be a problem with the bed rollers, I lowered them down under the bed to run a test piece through. So, I ran a piece through with no rollers on a bed that we completely flat (I checked) and the same thing happened! I am at a complete loss, and the guys from Grizzly say they’ve never heard of this happening before. Please tell me someone can share in my pain!

Are you talking about a long lengthwise bow, or a crosswise cupping?
John White
I apologize for not making that clear...it is a long lengthwise bow.
