I make miniature spinet, upright and grand pianos in 1/2″ and 1″ scale. I’m looking for a small inline/straight sander that can be used for wet sanding for finishing the lacquer finish on the pianos. The sander also needs to have clamps on both ends of the shoe/plate to hold the paper to the shoe/plate. I know of 2 straight/inline sanders but they are not intended for wet sanding and use Velcro to hold the paper to the shoe/plate. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Pianomaker

I would doubt that you will find anything powered that will work well. I have wet sanded auto lacquer and lacquer on pool cues and it seems like you need the "feel" of the finishing to do it right.. I made up a hard plate for my 505 orbital for some project and it did not work to well..
JMHO..

Some auto body random orbital sanders work well with water, velcro backed. Look at a dedicated auto body supply store.
