Random Orbital Sander – Bosch, Milwaukee or…?
Need to replace my current random orbital sander. Festool is out of my budget right now.
Any recommendations? Looking at the Bosch ROS20VSC and the Milwaukee 6034-21 sanders.
Thanks!
Stan

You need to know how to use the orbital sander. If you perfectly know how to use this sander than you no need to replace the sander.

All deference to Kathy456, and assuming you simply want to replace the old one, you can stay in your price range and find a good one. I have the Bosch model you're referring to. Good machine if not a little under-powered for my liking. Anyhow, a fair amount of research will give you the results you're looking for.

10 years or so ago, Bosch won the bake-offs with the smoothest patterns. I have a couple of 1295VS that are no longer made but, I imagine current models probably do as well. I think the pic is from Wood Mag but, don't hold me to it.
The OP was 4 years ago, so maybe he has saved up for the Festool by now!
I have the Bosch but the one I use the most is a very inexpensive Skil yes I said Skil 😀 and this is my second one and when I kill this one I will buy another. These things are great and very inexpensive under 50 bucks and it gets abused and takes it. Great price so I don’t mind replacing it every 5 years or so.
I have a Bosch 3725DEVS and love it. I find it easy to use with the trigger grip or you can palm it. When connected to a shop vac, there is virtually no dust.

You should look at the Makita BO5041. It has vs and a more comfortable grip. I also found that it give a better finish that other tools in its price range.
