All,
Having just purchased a spindle sander I have encountered trouble in getting the sanding sleeves to slide onto the rubber spindles. In some cases I can not accompolish this task. Do any of you know of a tip or trick to facilitate this process?
Thanks,

A tiny bit of liquid dishwashing soap wiped around the end will lubricate the rubber enough to get it started into the sleeve.
Talcum powder.
The Professional Termite
I would avoid the dish soap, you never know how it might effect the rubber sleeve and when it dries removal of the sanding sleeve may be next to impossible. Talc will work well.
Also, Loosen the sleeve tightening nut and roll the rubber sleeved spindles like a rolling pin to relax them. This works as well for getting them off.
Work Safe, Count to 10 when your done for the day !!
