Over the years I’ve lost track of the washers I need to axially compress the sanding drums on my Delta BOSS spindle sander. If anyone can supply me the dimensions (ID, OD and thickness) and corresponding uses of these washers I will be most grateful. Also, what keeps the 1/2″ dia. sleeve from slipping on the 1/2″ steel arbor?
Thanks!
Alan

Ridgid R4251 Miter Saw
The Ridgid R4251 was a pleasant surprise. It uses two articulating arms to let it sit against a wall. The mechanism had me skeptical, but it performed excellently. The controls are conveniently placed and easy to use. The bevel and tilt locks for working off of the stops were my favorite of the field. Its LED results in a nice, accurate shadow.

The washers on my spindle sander ended up wherever lost washers go. I got a variety of washers, fender washers, etc from the hardware store to replace them. You want thick washers to compress the rubber spindle a bit. Too thin and the washer will potato chip. I think on one of the sizes I had to CA glue a few thin washers together.
On the smallest sleeve I just have an oversized washer to keep the sleeve on the naked spindle.
