I did a Google search and found the bits here for $1.71 each. I could not find the shipping charges so you will have to call them.

Should have been more clear I suppose. I've tried all my local haunts with no luck, so I'm looking for an online source; that's why I asked about the shipping. It was actually drillsrus that prompted the post. They have the bit for $1.71, but shipping is $11.
http://www.mcmaster.com If they don't have it, you don't need it. ;-)
I (we) have no idea on where you're located... East Coast or West, North or South, so most answers will be sort of vague as to suppliers. Do you need to drill a hole 5 inches deep, or just reach into a hard-to-get-to place?? If it's the latter, why not have someone weld on a longer shaft onto a 5/32 bit. If you've got to drill that deep through wood or metal, you may have a problem as most long drill bits only have 2 or so inches of flutes, necessitating frequent withdrawl of the bit to clear the chips. Those long drills are somewhat common in the aircraft industry, but the flutes are even shorter as they are used primarily for drilling sheet metal.
Try McMaster or MSC (mscdirect.com) as that is something they may have. I don't think Granger would have them. Or.....find a local machine shop and see if they can get it from their suppliers

Lowe's has longer bits. I do not remember what I paid for a 1/8" bit.

When your ship comes in... make sure you are not at the airport.
My local ACE hardware carries 6" and 12" drill bits in 1/8" & 3/16"
Try W. L. Fuller, Inc. Click here for drill length chart.
Can you use .161" dia instead of the 5/32" (.156") ?
if you can E-mial me your address & I will send you some 6" long. we used to have a Boeing surplus store in the area & they sold Drill Bits by the pound , 3/4" & under were sometimes just $1.00 per pound - so I have a few extra of some sizes , or check the Yard Store on line they seem to buy alot of surplus from Boeing now.
