I have a project to build and am need of 10/4 or so live edge material. I need to build a top to an entertainment center. The plank needs to be 20″ wide and about 7 ft long. I am not hung up on the exact type of material, maple, white oak, walnut, etc. I can design around that. Some figure and interesting grain would be nice. Some cracks etc are not an issue.
Any sources that carry this type of material. We don’t have much in AZ.
Thanks Morgan

I have plenty here but shipping would be a problem. A mill near me could possibly help, http://www.kmhardwoods.com/ Also do a search of mills in states near you, they should have some flitches on hand.

Ask, amazing selection of boards.... maybe a drive for some fall color? Shipping is a killer, I bought 5 slabs of maple last year in VA and it was 220 bucks to ship it here. Nice spalted material, and about 140 bd ft. It realllllly adds up.

I have little experience in getting wood shipped but I realize it is expensive. The only piece I ever got that way was a piece of 1" X 4" X 4' ebony from Hearn in PA. and he told me if it wasn't right to send it back. I'm only 7 miles from Berkshire Products. Sometimes I just go down there and look with no intension of buying.
But, I have never bought a piece there I wasn't happy with.

I believe I would stop by for a coffee break and a browse there as well. Do they have signs posted, please don't drool on the product, it is dried already? I love to stop into bike shops, just for a fix of rubber tire smell as well. My brain associates that smell with fun times, and new bikes!

No signs but the people there are really great. Although my bubinga table is smaller than the one you and Chris did, the original slab was 6/4 53" wide and 8' tall. It wasn't the biggest piece they had.
Bike, yes, told my wife this morning as we drove in to our day jobs, we really need to get out on the bikes. I actually put air in the tires some time in June with every expectation of using them. As Bob at Kidderville has mentioned, we have had more rain this year in New England then.....

You could try Edensaw Woods. You'd want to call the Port Townsend site. It's here in the Puget Sound (Washington State), I don't know how bad the shipping might be, but they certainly have a selection of that type of lumber.
