I just bought a Rigid Spindle Sander and attached the belt attachment. I checked that the table was square to the belt. When I sand an edge, the lower part is terribly undercut. I was hoping for something close to a 90 degree angle and the sanded edge to be flat, rather than rounded down towards the bottom.
Any ideas?

I like the Ridgid sander, they've had one in the FWW shop for years, but I never looked too closely at the squareness and flatness of edges cleaned up on the belt sander.
I'll be at a local Home Depot in the next day or two and I'll take a look at one of them there if I can and see if I can figure out what is going on.
You might have some luck with adding a piece of 3/4" thick sheet stock to the sander's table so that you are working in the middle area of the belt rather than the edge.

Adding a piece of sheet stock under the work piece helps. Thanks
