I can look at mine and see how it's set up. I'll row over to the boat tomorrow and dive down and take a look.
A few more pics to help describe the situation. There is a slot access on the side of the arm, but well in front of the Lock Screw and Lock Pin. The Latch Shaft sure came out easy, but I don't see how since its collar should be trapped in the Lock Pin.

Hi astrowags, very glad you found some help in solving your Sears Radial Arm Saw problem on a separate blog!! It is very unfortunate when someone, such as yourself, reaches out for honest solutions to woodworking/tool questions and receive ridiculous responses from persons who have no other function in life but to provide stupid answers!! I’m sure what you discovered can help other serious woodworkers as well!
