Plans for a “Changing Table”?
I was going to build a cradle for my new grandchildren (twins) expected in September – but after discussions with my daughter and son-in-law a changing table appears to be a better and more practical choice. Anyone know of any plans available for this? They did see one in a store or catalog which had drawers on the left, and a door with shelves on the right.
If “changing table” plans aren’t available, then plans for a chest could be adapted, but I would like to find plans that have the desired combination of drawers and shelves.
Any suggestions?

Since we expecting twins in a few months, I finished my "version" of a changing table last weekend.
It's like a deep book case. I made it this way for a few reasons, maybe you'll find them useful. First, for easy access to diapers and clothes, no drawers or doors. My wife has a few wicker baskets which fit nicely into the lower section. However a few years from now I hope to use it for a book case or toy case then I'll put the doors/drawers on. Second, the top is 42" wide by 20" deep, and the total height is 40". Although it may seem high, my wife and I are tall so the 'working' height (i.e. top) is just about right.
I drew my own plans but found that a good source for inspiration (styles, dimensions, etc) is the Potter Barn Kids catalog. I bought the wood from my local homedepot and the tulip legs from Adams Wood.
Here is a link to a set of free plans for one.
