has anyone built the sled in the current copy of ffw? sounds like a good idea. i use a simple sled with a cleat on the infeed end and when i don’t quite get the board up tight to the cleat it will move a little bit. the one in the magazine has no cleat or stop of some kind. I use playing cards to shim any gaps. Maybe, i should the boys over for poker and build the other sled!

Yes, I did build one of the sleds. It worked excellent although it got a bit heavy after running several boards with it. I did have to screw a cleat to the infeed end to keep the board from pulling on through. Be sure to build it about 12" longer than the length of your longest board. You have to support the board very close to both ends or it will tip up and give you the biggest snipe your going to see for a while. I ran some really cuped and twisted red elm and they came out really flat. It did a good job. I used it with a 734 DeWalt.
