Debating on making a wedgie sled bc everyone says they make cutting segments a breeze. I currently use a Miter Set to get the angle set right and then my Incra miter gauge with a stop block on my fence. It’s pretty easy.
Help me understand what is so different on a wedgie sled that makes it so much better?

A wedgie sled uses the relationship between the two fences to determine the angle, usually set by pre-made angle gauge "wedgies" The faces of the segment will always be exact regardless of their relationship to the blade.
A miter gauge uses the angle between the fence and blade to determine the angle. Each cut references off the fence so both cuts need to be perfect to make the perfect ring.
You can always easily add a (removable) second fence to your current setup to make it a wedgie sled, if you like.
So if the angle gauge wedgies between the fences determine the angle, does that mean you need at least 180 wedgies (One for each degree)?
The angle, 22.5, 30. whatever, is measured between the two fences as I pictured. If this angle is a little "off' in relation to the blade, it makes no difference, the angle of the faces to be glued remain constant.
