I own a Delta 6″ jointer model 37-190 and recently replaced the blades for the first time. I was very careful in setting the height of the blades to the output table and when I made a cut, I only got a infinitessionally small snipe at the rear end of the workpiece. Actual measurement by a feeler gauge showed it was .0025″ deep.
I am satisfied with the setting and reason that once the blades wear a little, I should be right on. Am I correct?
My second question has to do with a rattling noise that I get in the input table as I run the machine. When I crank the input table tightly to its top level, the noise stops but as soon as I drop it down, the rattle comes back. I made sure all the nuts holding the blades were tight
I reason that something may be loose and would appreciate any advice I can get from anyone familiar with the situation.
Thanks

I don'tknow about the Delta, but the Jet has a little lock that you loosen when you move the infeed table, and then tighten when you're ready to go. Not sure if having the lock (if there is one) un-done would make something "rattle" or not.
