Reading the post about planes above, it struck me that there is a good block plane article in the finewoodworking that just came today.  I have resolved to learn to do things by hand to improve both my hand work and my machine work and just bought some english stanley planes to supplement the old one’s I had.  One new plane is the adjustable throat low angle block plane and I was about to look through the boxes of old FWWs to find an article on tuning a plane.

There in the new FWW is an inset piece on tuning a block plane!  That’s timing.
