Do you have any resources for plans for creating hidden compartments in desks, cabinets, other wooden structures? Ideas for concealed latches would also be helpful. Books, websites, articles or your own ideas are welcome. Thanks in advance.

If you have any finials, like on bed posts, you can do a circular threaded hole and have the finial screw on.
a simple one is a false back on a drawer. tip the drawer out and you have a small space.
Another for a drawer is to put in a false bottom. the back edge of the sides that the false bottom sits on should be tapered to the rear on the back 1"-1 1/2" to open or lift the false bottom, press on the rear edge and the front lifts up.
all kinds of possibilities
