I recall reading somewhere that coating the feet and lower few inches of outdoor furniture with epoxy is a great protectant against rot. Any out there know what type of epoxy would be appropriate for this situation?

I've used Cold Cure made by Industrial Formulators (Vancouver, BC) and sold by Lee Valley. It has a very low viscosity and wicks into the end grain easily. On red cedar it will penetrate anywhere from 1/4" to 1/2".
