Electrolysis – Old Computer power supply
I have a couple of old Stanley planes, with a bit of rust that I want to electrolyze to strip the rust.
I am thinking of using an old computer power supply as the power source. I think it would work well, as they are regulated, and produce a good DC current.
Anybody, have reasons it wouldn’t work?

Any higher wattage A C step down transformer (15 Watt+)attached to a full wave rectifier (Diode) will do the job.
Some people use a car battery for electroplating. Be sure to add a fuse or circuit breaker to the circuit.
A rheostat (to adjust the voltage) and a DC volt meter will complement
the project.Steinmetz.
I have used one before for smaller parts and it worked well. I have a larger variable power supply for larger stuff. A battery charger is also good.
