We have not had a cold winter here but a few towns over they set a record high two days ago 77° F. In Colorado. In the winter. That is just unnatural. I hope it rains; we need some moisture.
Glad you are finally going to get some warm !

You creep! We're having an unprecedented (seemingly) string of snow-storms in the Puget Sound this year! Even in a good year, we don't see 70's until May or June, COL (cry out loud). ;-)
I guess maybe we do get 70's in May and June, it's just so hard to tell with an inch a day of rain those month's!

If not for Global warming I'd freeze to death!
Snowed on my already bloomed daffodils last Saturday here in Atlanta... melted on Sunday and 73 here today...
Sarge..
It was snowing all day here in Port Moody. Stuck to the roof and lawn, but not the roads in my neighborhood.Chris @ http://www.flairwoodwork.spaces.live.com(soon to be http://www.flairwoodworks.com)

That's basically what happened a week ago here... but the temps jumped to the 60's within 2 days.. I don't schedule the weather.. I just enjoy it when it's good which is most of the time which is about 75% of the time here.

Daffodils.. Mine are just a clump of the green stuff about 2 inches high! I sure love it when the flowers bloom. Then, it is about time for Chicago's next BIG snowfall!
Typical March here Will. It's been in the 70's for several days with 76* today through Wednesday... then the cold front breaks through with drops to the 50's. brrrrrrrrr...... close the door and turn on the gas heater.
Perfect timing though as I just finished the base desk for a computer desk-hutch and staining outside on portable tables keeps the smell well.. outside. Hopefully I can get some finish down also before Wed. and the phase II hutch goes into action.

Sarge,Snowed on the coast this morning - headed for Georgia :)Doc
Isn't it great? I'm in Alabama, and had the pleasure of spending all of Friday afternoon in my shop with the back door propped open. There was just enough breeze to keep the refreshing, spring-like air circulating in my basement shop.
I stopped every hour for a few minutes just to walk outside and take it in. Thank God for days like that.
For those of you trying to contain your jealousy, the heat will be unbareable here starting in early May through September so don't feel too bad.
I spent the weekend putting a cofered ceiling in my dinning room and had to turn on the air conditioning and change into shorts. I always look at the posters id and noticed your Bama ring. Is that a letterman's ring. Roll Tide. Next to the Gators, Bama is my second favorite team.
Don
Yes, it is a letterman ring. For all of the C's that got me through college.
I graduated in 2003, but was not a student athelete. Congrats to your Gators on another national championship. I'm glad to know that other than Ole Miss, we gave you one of the better fights of the year. We just need you to get rid of that Tebow guy (AKA the 11th and 12th man!).
It has been a bitterly cold winter in Malta. Temperatures were down to 5 deg C :-)Seriously, that's cold for here and it is still unusually cold.Am I glad I've learned to hand plane! (Actually: learning but it's a far cry from when I only owned one hand plane and used it rarely and reluctantly.)
Aaarrrgh, I was about to plow the driveway, then it turned to freezing rain then just rain. The flies are thawin out but no skeeters yet!

bob,
frozen flies that thaw. in my digs spring done sprung about a month and a half ago. some would have me believe that southern calif has no actual seasons. i have been aware of the subtle and seasonal changes since being young. trees budding in their own time and not all of the flowers at once, grass green before anything else and did i mention the pacific flyway bird migratory route that thrills and charms me every winter and spring? one's home is one's home. it has always seemed downright sinful that one would not notice and delight in the given and natural goings-on precisely where one lives and breathes.
however, frozen, thawed flies...eef
Eef,
Back in the early 70s I had a move to San Diego wrapped up, good job, a place to live in Marin County (?) just above LaJolla (Ooooooo, that's nice!). Chickened out at the last minute.
One of those things that every once in a while ye think, "What would it have been like if I had................." To this day I have a deep fondness for the area, if it just wasn't so expensive to live there mebbe some day we could...........
