Need a dado blade for my small garage workshop. Does anyone have suggestions on a reasonable 8″ router.
I have been looking at the SD 208 (~$95).
Amazon also has the Oldham G2795 on sale for around $100, but can’t find much information about this dado set.
thanks

I'd skip the Oldham. The SD208 is a solid set for the price. I was very happy with the DeWalt set that has twice as many teeth and is in the same price range on sale from Grizzly. The Oshlun set looks to be an intriguing value but have not tried it yet....it has a similar design to the $300 Systimatic 42T/6T Superfine set, and are quite well made for their price point.

You might consider a 6-inch diameter set. It will do 99% of what most people use the dado set for, costs less, and is a lot easier, (75% less torque required to make the same cut), on your saw.
If your saw has 3-inches of cut depth with a 10-in blade, then the 8-inch dado set will cut 2-inches, and the 6-inch dado will cut 1-inch.
Realistically, how often do you need to cut a dado or groove deeper than an inch?
I've been most happy with my DeWalt set, with a negative cutting angle. It's the same set sold under the Delta brand and retails for less than $100.

I'll sugggest you consider the SD306, a 6" dado (as suggested by others) but better quality in the Freud line. Runs $136 at Amazon. I've had mine for a few years, haven't done tons of dados with it, but quite a few and they are clean and effortless.
