A Versatile Sanding Station
A rolling cart features a downdraft table and shop vacs to collect the dustThis rollabout sanding station was originally built for the Fine Woodworking shop, but it would be right at home in a one-man shop, too. It consists of a straightforward cabinet on casters made from medium-density fiberboard, with a latticework top. Inside, shop vacs draw dust from the random-orbit sander. In this short video, the magazine’s former shop manager shows all the features of the sanding station and explains how he built it.

Thx. Will erase downdraft table off our shop to do list!
The best part of this video IMHO was the catch for the palm sander. I have to wait seconds (5-10) for the sander to wind to a stop before placing it down after a sand or to change paper sizes. I like this idea!
