Steve Latta at 1810 Day
On Saturday, April 9, at the Strong Howard house in Windsor, Conn., Fine Woodworking contributing editor Steve Latta will give a presentation on neoclassical details in early 19th-century furniture. He also will demonstrate inlay and stringing techniques with Bob Van Dyke from the Connecticut Valley School of Woodworking.
The presentations are part of the Windsor Historical Society’s 1810 Day, a day-long program to deepen understanding of life in 1810. Attendees are free to come and go throughout the day and sample the presentations that interest them. And you really CAN touch everything! The day includes hearth cooking, musical and living history performances, a walking tour of the historic Palisado Green and Cemetery, and of course demonstrations of furniture making.
The whole event is free, but please register by April 8 by calling 860-688-3813. For more information, including a schedule of events, visit www.WindsorHistoricalSociety.org.
