Since I enjoy having fingers and some beveled/mitred cuts dont necessarily fit the engineering of the saw, I came up with this to both keep my fingers a healthy distance away from the blade while also keeping the work clamped to the surface of the saw.

The pictures say it all as to how to construct it.

If you need to cut the jig to make it work for what you are doing go for it. After all jigs are there to meet the needs of the worker. I realize the jig isn't exactly rocket science, but I enjoy my digits too much not to use it.
