Oval Hand Mirror
Used pattern bit on edge of actual mirror glass to form a template for the outer edge of the frame and also to form a second template for the recess for the glass. Routed outer edge and recess using a combination of router bushing and piloted up-cut spiral bit on some scrap QS white oak.
Recently started teaching myself to turn spindles, so turned the handle with a 3/8” diameter x 3/4” long tenon to fit into the taper at the bottom of the frame.
Epoxied mirror into recess and handle into round mortise. Finished with clear, matte Polyx-Oil and hand rubbed.
