Walnut Dining Table
I made this table for my daughter as a wedding present. It also represents a bit of an ending or closing for me or at least for the wood involved.
The walnut came from a single log that my dad found for me about forty years ago. I’ve moved the wood numerous times over the years always hesitating to use the lumber, waiting for the right project. Making a table for my daughter with wood from her grandfather seems to meet that criteria.
The table itself was made with the idea of starting in a one-bedroom apartment and perhaps ending up center stage in its own dining room. The top is made from a single board, shop sawn veneer over a lumbercore substrate.
I took pictures along the way for my daughter to see the progress. Here is a link to those pictures. https://photos.app.goo.gl/2Te6S1GRqv5mQiay7
