An updated loose interpretation of the designs made famous by The Sheraton and Hepplewhite Drawing books. The apron was done using a ‘bricklaid’ method of laminating poplar and pattern routing to a radius curve. The Macassar Ebony veneer was booked out vertically over a crossbanded underlayment veneer.I applied it in sections with just wood clamps,3 layers of 1/8th inch ply,wax paper and titebond cold press adhesive. The Tiger Maple Top is a single 16″ wide piece of my ever dwindling “stash”,and the banding and inlay is handmade.
