I recently bought an old used workbench, thats in pretty godd condition except the tail vise.
I taken in apart, cleaned it and greased the skrew with Tallow.
The problem lies in that I can´t get the faces of the vise flush, it´s worn down more towards the benchtop, so it will not grip good.
Is tyere any good ways fpr flushing the vice faces?
I tried to attach plywood faces, but it wont do the trick.

Ess, thor r
worn faces
You'll either need to remove the faces and plane them flat, or add a solid wood supplemental face to each side that can be planed to compensate for the wear. Shiming the supplemental faces might also work, depending on the nature of the wear.
