I wrote this after cutting myself on a plane blade that jumped out of a wooden plane due to a poorly set wedge (my fault). Only a minor injury requiring no more than a band-aid to remedy.
With the planes I played
My love never swayed
‘Til I took the pass
That was my last
For out popped the blade
My right hand filleted
And now of the blade
Ever-sharp, I am afraid

Glad it was just a Band-Aid, Chris. The word "filleted" had me worried!
Yes, glad a bandaid was a sufficient fix. It's best to be able to avoid trying to find rhymes for words like surgery and stitches in woodworking poetry. ;-)

Chris,
Sorry you got hurt, but glad to hear it isn't so bad.But the title of the thread is Woodworking Poetry. So here are the lyrics of a Beatles tune, Norwegian Wood.I once had a girl, or should I say, she once had me...
She showed me her room, isn't it good Norwegian wood? She asked me to stay and she told me to sit anywhere,
So I looked around and I noticed there wasn't a chair.I sat on a rug, biding my time, drinking her wine,
We talked until two and then she said: "It's time for bed"She told me she worked in the morning and started to laugh.
I told her I didn't, and crawled off to sleep in the bathAnd when I awoke, I was alone, this bird had flown
So I lit a fire, isn't it good Norwegian wood.Get well soon.

there once was a man with a plane
when cut, his blood did stain
Tarry not nor linger
He put a plaster on his finger
No more was the blood his bane.
