I’m interested in attending woodworking classes. I would consider myself beginning with prett good knowledge about power and hand tools but technique lacking.
Would anyone have any advise on week long or weekend courses in Ventura County, CA or southern california area?
Thanks,
Alex

Soriano,
I am from Virginia so I don't know much about your area. I suggest you use Google and do a search on "woodworking schools ventura" or something like that. I just tried it and got a few things. Don't know if they are near you. Here they are:
http://www.betterwoodworking.com/woodworking_clubs.htm
this website lists dozens of woodworking clubs in CA. Look up the one closest to you and give them a call.
(805) 581-0014 Woodworkers Meet Conejo Valley Woodworkers’ Association meets 7 p.m. at Redwood Middle School, 233 W. Gainsborough Road, Thousand Oaks and will hear from William Ng, founder and director of William Ng Woodworking School in San Diego discussing the use of fixtures in furniture making.
Good luck. I hope someone sends you something more specific.

Measure your output in smiles per board foot.
Cerritos and Palomar Community colleges for a comprehsive look at the art.
And if routing, jigs, fixtures for metal, wood & plastic are part of the picture. ME.
Check in the Adult Ed classes in your area. That's what I did here in San Jose about 6 years ago.

Which one is best in them?
Try a search for Ng woodworking school in Anahiem. There's Mark Adams school of woodworking which is great, however it is in Indiana. David Marks puts on some classes in in the other Calif. (nor cal).
You might give Patrick L. Stafford a call at Cabrillo College. At one time he taught some classes at College of The Redwoods School of Fine Woodworking.
